Arnprior Aerospace Inc. broke ground this month on a new manufacturing plant in Chihuahua City's Parque Industrial Sur, its first in Mexico, where it plans to make metallic and non-metallic aircraft components and subassemblies for its Canada operations.
The $3 million, 170,000 square-foot plant is scheduled to be completed this fall. But the company is already launching operations in a rented industrial building.
Arnprior's investment is expected to generate 136 direct jobs in the city. Also this month, Honeywell Aerospace, Kaman Aerospace and Hawker Beechcraft announced investments or expansions in Chihuahua City.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Arnprior president and CEO John Wilbur and general manager Tom J. Melvin.
Wilbur said Chihuahua offers the best mix of highly-trained, certified workers, government support and quality infrastructure to deliver value to its customers. |
