Chihuahua's industrial base has entered a new phase of development.
After decades of experience in automotive industry processes and parts manufacturing, Chihuahua is now actively developing an aerospace sector.
State universities are already training students on aerospace engineering, some in collaboration with American institutions like New Mexico State University and Mexico's Instituto Politécnico Nacional.
We have a specialized training center in Chihuahua City and Ciudad Juárez called Cenaltec, where technicians are certified on a variety of aerospace manufacturing skills.

The State of Chihuahua has 20 percent of the nation's aerospace jobs, and some of the most influencial names of the field worldwide now have operations in our State, namely Honeywell Aerospace, Labinal, Zodiac, Cessna, Textron Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, Hawker Beechcraft, SGI Electroswitch Corp., FMC Technologies, Capsonic Aerospace and Cambrian Industries.
State and industry officials believe that in a few years the State will be ready to assemble complete small planes. Already one Mexican company, AeroSan, is assembling small plane structures in Juárez.
