Researchers from 63 universities will gather in Chihuahua City for the VII Biennial Iberoamerican Communication Forum on September 23-25, where they will discuss the impact of the media on societies of Spanish-speaking countries and their democracies.
The forum, sponsored by Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua and Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Chihuahua, will include 140 expositions and 25 round tables.
A keynote address by Italian philosopher and political scientist Giovanni Sartori highlights this year's forum.
Professor Peter Phillips of Sonoma State University will present Project Censored 2009, which studies modern censure as a subtle manipulation of reality by mainstream news media.
Dr. Octavio Islas, of Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Estado de México, will talk about the Results of the World Internet Project.
Conferences and round tables will be held at Chihuahua City Conventions and Expositions Center. Hotels Fiesta Inn Chihuahua, Palacio del Sol, Quality Inn Chihuahua and Divisadero Barrancas will host participants.
