Instituto Tecnologico de Ciudad Juarez, the city's overachieving technology institute, has finished work on its first building at what is expected to be a major educational complex clustering at least seven higher education institutions.
The first 450 students will take classes at the new campus starting September 1. And to boost enrollment, ITCJ offering 50-percent tuition grants to all students.
Degrees offered at ITCJ's new campus include Information Technologies and Communications, Computer Systems, Business Management, Accounting and Business Administration.
An Industrial Engineering degree will also be offered online.
Last month Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez also launched its first set of buildings at the site, where it plans to accept up to 710 new students beginning next August.
ITCJ and UACJ will coordinate bus service to offer free student transportation.
ITCJ plans to enroll 1,500 students by 2012 in its new campus.
