The second edition of Chihuahua City's 2010 International Film Festival ended last Sunday in a huge success with more than 20 films and 180 short films from more than 12 countries.
Films from the United States, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Germany, Slovenia, China, Argentina, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, Mexico and the United Kingdom participated in the event.
The undisputed winner in the documentary category was Ahate Pasat, by Spain's Koldo Almandoz and Marian Fernandez Pascal.
In the fiction category the winner was El Cortejo, by Marina Sereseky, also from Spain, while the winner in the animated film category was Martyris, by Mexico's Luis Felipe Hernandez Alanis.
The special Chihuahuan short film award went to Miguel Concepcion Favela and Leopoldo Avila Gonzalez for their entry, Silencio.
Mayor Alvaro Madero recognized Mexican director-writer-producer Carlos Carrera for his contribution to Mexico's film industry as director of national blockbusters as El Crimen del Padre Amaro and La Mujer de Benjamin.
Carrera's entry in this year's festival was De la Infancia.
