Oscar Sevilla (Racing Rock) was the overall winner of the 4th Vuelta a Chihuahua cycling tour that ended in Chihuahua City today after the final 118-km sixth stage, won by Javier Benítez (Contentpolis) in a close contest with Takashi Miyazawa (Meitan) and Cristian Benenati (ISD).
The tour was comprised of six stages beginning and ending in Chihuahua City along a 845-km circuit that run through parts of the Sierra Tarahumara and some rural areas of the largest State of Mexico.
Seventeen teams with cyclists from 19 countries participated in this year's Vuelta, held from October 4-10.
Sevilla, who follows last year's winner Paco Mancebo in the podium, said: "This is a victory by the entire team. Every time you win you feel euphoric, but without my team I wouldn't have achieved this. Besides teammates, we are friends. This is a very important win for me and it encourages me to keep fighting".
The teams included cyclists from Mexico, Italy, United States, France, Slovenia, Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Portugal, Spain, Japan, Bulgaria, Canada, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Colombia, New Zealand and Denmark.
