Chihuahua City is one of the 25 most digitalized Latin American cities, according to a ranking by Motorola in a one-year study recently completed.
Representing Motorola de Mexico, Enrique Perea Martinez handed mayor Carlos Borruel Baquera a recognition for his city as one of the best in Latin America in making the most use of information technologies.
"This is the first year Motorola makes this ranking. We spent a year checking on improvements made by the different municipalities and cities accross Latin America, and definitely Chihuahua came out as one of the most important cities", Perea Martinez said.
According to Perea, digitalization is paramount in giving residents the best public services.
Coincidentally, Chihuahua City announced it will host DigitAll 09, an IT event scheduled for September 28 to October 03.
DigitAll 09 includes a Digital Cities Forum, an International Simposium on IT and Computing by Tecnologico de Chihuahua II, and Live IT, as well as workshops and conferences.
Chihuahua DigitAll 09 is a totally self-financed event. Carnets will be sold at 400 pesos for the whole week, 200 pesos for the Cidi2009 Forum, 100 for individual workshops, and 50 for conferences only.
